What is Fabric Fat Quarter
Fat quarter (FQ) is a quarter of fabric at approx 44" or 110cm wide. Instead of cutting a strip that is 110cm wide x 25cm long as it would generally be, a fat quarter is a fabric cut which is an approx 55cm wide x 50cm long rectangular piece like the graphic shown below. Nowadays, lots of fabric are designed for using fat quarters, so a fat quarter cut is more versatile in use.
