Important Care Note: Hydrophane Property

Ethiopian Opals are Hydrophane, meaning they are porous and will absorb liquids.

Colour Loss: If the stone absorbs water, it will temporarily turn translucent and lose its colour/fire. While the fire often returns once the stone naturally dries out (which can take days), repeated moisture exposure can permanently dull the stone or cause it to "craze" (develop small cracks).

Chemicals: Avoid contact with perfumes, lotions, soaps, and oils, as these can be absorbed and permanently discolour the stone.
